The history of Croton reflects a transition from Swiss craftsmanship to a more global identity, notably through its historical relationship with the brand Nivada Grenchen. Although of Swiss origin, the brand has always sought to combine Swiss precision with Italian style. In the mid-20th century, Croton became the exclusive importer and distributor of Nivada Grenchen watches in the United States. During this period, many models were co-signed “Croton Nivada Grenchen.” In 1991, the brand was acquired by Nationwide Time, a family-owned company that has specialized in watchmaking since the 1960s.
