Alpina - Its history

The history of Alpina began in 1883 with an innovative vision: cooperation rather than competition. Founded by Gottlieb Hauser, the brand established itself as a pioneer of the modern sports watch. A major milestone came in 1938 with the launch of the Alpina 4, widely regarded as the first true Swiss sports watch. After being affected by the quartz crisis, Alpina was acquired in 2002 by the founders of Frédérique Constant. Today, Alpina belongs to the select group of Swiss watch manufacturers that design, produce, and assemble their own movements entirely in-house. This vintage-inspired timepiece combines classic elegance with traditional mechanical watchmaking, paying tribute to the finest watches of the mid-20th century.
