The Ebel BTR Chronograph is a mechanical self-winding chronograph. It is powered by an exclusive Ebel movement, COSC-certified, the Ebel Calibre 137 (based on the Lemania 1350).

The watch features a black woven carbon dial with three subdials: small seconds at 9 o’clock, chronograph hours at 6 o’clock and minutes at 3 o’clock, with a date display at 4:30. The chronograph seconds hand is red, and the hands are luminous.

Additional features include an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a tachymeter engraved on the inner bezel (rehaut), and a screw-down crown bearing the Ebel logo.

The transparent case back reveals the movement and its E-shaped oscillating weight. The watch is fitted with an integrated stainless steel bracelet

Ebel BTR Chronograph - Its history

The Ebel 1911 BTR Chronograph line (BTR standing for “Back to the Roots”) was introduced in 2006 to mark the return of Ebel to the market for prestigious men’s watches. This followed a period during which the brand had focused more heavily on women’s models while under the ownership of LVMH. The 1911 BTR models retained the key design codes of the original Ebel 1911 Collection, particularly the distinctive hexagonal case construction and the five functional screws characteristic of the line. At the same time, they adopted a larger and thicker case (44.5 mm), giving the watch a more sporty and contemporary aesthetic while maintaining the brand’s elegant identity. The 1911 BTR chronograph is notably equipped with the Ebel Calibre 137, a movement certified by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC). Calibre 137 originates from the Lemania 1350, which was significantly reworked and further developed in-house by Ebel, including the addition of a bidirectional winding system for improved efficiency.
